Spotted Shag (Stictocarbo punctatus) (Parekareka)

This is a common endemic Shag often seen around the South Island. Roosts and nests on cliff faces on the Pacific Ocean side of the Otago Peninsula. Has exceptional plumage during the breeding season with a green face and double head crests.
